the essence

Well, I'm finally back. And I got over 9 lovely hours of sleep last night. :)

The youth group retreat at camp was fun but I only got to go up Friday night & then it was over on Satruday. I stayed with Rach in her cabin with some of the high school girls & we were up until about 2:30 talking & eating junk food. :) Then I was up at 6 to go work on the kitchen for 3 hours. It was fun but I was SO exhausted. I also drove back three of the middle school girls & they're really sweet. I think I like hanging out with them more than the high school girls actually. But, that's why I crashed so easily last night. I was out of it.

I have an essay due tomorrow & another accounting test & Business Law test on Thursday that I ahven't even begun to study for. Part of me thinks I shuldn't ahve gone up to camp but I REALLY wanted too. I just hope I can make it for the full time next year. I feel bad for Ray because he had one of the most difficult cabins & that was kind of hard for him. He & Nathan counseled together & those guys worked hard. So did Conrad (he kept the whole things running after all!), Rach & Erin & there were two guys in the kitchen who are very diligent & do whatever they need to & everyone just kind of brushes them off. I just wanted to recognize the people there who actually worked to make the weekend possible. I feel bad because they were pretty neglected (that's the way it usually is those-if you work hard & do what you're supposed to you usually go unnoticed while everyone else does the jobs that makes them visible & goof off to make the kids like them but when it comes to doing grunt work they just don't care). But, I also want to encourage these hard workers that earthly recognition is not waht we're here for-it's our heavenly reward. :) On that topic, two or three campers even got SAVED while we were there. I love hearing that, it gives me chills. :)
