I'm back baby!

I kind of wish I was still gone though. I can't tell you how much fun I had. In fact we were actually supposed to get home earlier than we did but we were having so much fun & being so spontaneous & laid back that instead of leaving at 9:30 yesterday morning we played & stayed until 3:30.

This is the first trip we've taken when we haven't been really rushed. AND we didn't sleep in the car at all. (People begin to act all worried when they find out we do that. It's really not a big deal & you save money on top of it.)

So, we left Friday, again, quite a bit later than planned. I think about 3 hours later than planned. We decided ahead of time to stop in Columbia, SC to sleep there Friday night, which would put us just a couple of hours from Asheville. Unfortunately, because of our late departure, we didn't get to Columbia until 3:30 in the morning. Leaving late resulted in us being rather tired after just a few hours of driving. I still haven't mastered driving a stick shift so Ray also got stuck driving the whole time. Anyway, just a few hours into the trip my head started bobbing from exhaustion. I'd doze for a few minutes, I'd wake back up & try to sit up but my head would inevitably start falling again. I kept fighting sleep because I knew Ray was tired & I didn't want him to fall asleep driving & I felt bad too (But I admit it, I was mostly just scared of him running us off the road). This is how tired we both were:

(In the car with just the tape player going, no conversation between the two of us)

Ray driving: Where'd she graduate from?
Me: What? Who?
Ray: Oh...

Yeah...Ray was so tired that he was talking nonsense & I was so tired that I ddin't get the slightest bit worried over the fact that he was doing this while driving. We were so glad when we got to the hotel.

Of course our vacation was more exciting than the car ride, but I don't have time to tell about that now. Check back later, there may be more.
