I really wanted to post last night but it was after midnight, I was tired, thought I could post this morning...but now I can't remember what I was going to post about.
I did make the pumpkin bread, it was delicious! Problem is, since it tends to be a seasonal recipe for me & I hadn't made it in about a year, I forgot I was supposed to divide the batter between TWO loaf pans. So, I poured in the batter, stuck it in the over, & it took about twice as along as normal to bake. It also got rather poofy, & because it was in there so long with the insides refusing to cook, the outside was a little burned tasting & crunchy. But, it was still good aside from that (good enough that Jen asked for the recipe for that AND the crepes).
Yesterday afternoon we got home from church, walked through the garage door into the kitchen, & me being miss unobservant only noticed that the door mat was askew. Ray walked in behind me & noticed a few feet ahead on the floor was a tiny little snake. Very similiar to the one I saw in the garage a week or so ago. The snake was very dead, but the cat still acted a little scared of it so I don't know if he killed it or not.
Then, last night we got home from church, a Sunday School teachers meeting, & a 2+ hour visit at Barnes & Noble a little after 11 pm. And our garage door was nice & wide open, as I'm sure it had been since we left the house nearly six hours earlier. Thankfully it doesn't appear anyone wandered in our house & that everything is still in the garage. The weird thing is that after we left the house I had some kind of feeling that we'd left the garage door open.
Today is back to the daily grind. There's lots to do around the house AND with Ray's business (the important thing at the moment) plus Ray has an appointment with his throat doctor today. He been having problems with his throat for about six months now, but his insurance didn't kick in until October 1. At least now if something is seriously wrong it will be covered by insurance & not be labeled a "pre-existing condition." I think he may have something wrong with his thyroid. Hopefully we'll know by the end of the day!
