We actually went to the movies last night! I don't know why I love to go over renting a movie for $4.50 & watching all the extras so much when it costs $16 & only lasts a couple hours. But I do. I guess it goes hand in hand with me owning the same products Starbucks has to make their drinks yet I'd still rather go there & pay over $4 for them to make it for me. It just tastes better. Really.
Anyway, we went to see "Legend of Zorro" or whatever its called. In all honesty I thought the first Zorro movie was so boring that I probably never would have even rented the second one when it came out on DVD. But, Wednesday night I decided I'd rather have Hungry Howies instead of Little Caesars for dinner & when I ran into the store there was a promo flyer for a free sneak preview of the movie (it doesn't come out for another 3 weeks) so I snathced one up. I'm not one to pass up a free movie!
I was surprised because I actually enjoyed it & it was much better than I expected. If you like those movies its probably worth it for you to see it in the theater, & I'd say its a definite rental one day. I may ahve just enjoyed it so much because I had such low expectations for it. I'm not sure.
I did have ladies meeting last night & I was in charge of bringing the bread. Naturally when the movie came up I still made the bread but ditched the meeting. I made my grandmothers Sunday Yeast Rolls which are normally delicious when she makes them (this was my first attempt) but I think I added too much yeast. The recipe calls for one packed of yeast but I only had a contatiner of loose yeast. So, I measured out about 1 oz., thinking that each packet was 1 1/4 oz. Now, I'm pretty sure each packet is only 1/4 oz. so I added about 4 x's too much yeast. :p
I'll have to try again, the recipe just takes a lot of time because the dough has to rise for about 8 hours. Then you have to knead it down, roll it out & cut out the rolls, place them on cookie sheets, & let them rise another 4-6 hours. It's an easy recipe other than that & usually quite delicious! Plus, a single recipe make around 25-30 rolls so that's another bonus.
Anyway, I'm sitting back enjoying my coffee now in our still overcast weather. We have youth group tonight & then another birthday party at my house tomorrow. I can't wait for our vacation!
