I conquered the family addiction (at least for the weekend!)
I was at a garage sale Saturday morning & saw a french press coffee maker IN THE BOX. It was so tempting to buy it. I'm not sure why because I already own a french press, along with my espresso maker, my 4-cup Gevalia maker, & my 12-cup Gevalia maker. But I wanted this one too.
So, after my only slightly successful garage sale trip Saturday morning I came home & did a lot of laundry & worked on some decorating in the kitchen. I was getting in my groove when I had to get ready to leave for Gainesville.
Erin & Nathan had extra tickets to the Gator game & invited us to go with them. I am SO not a football fan. I get a bit ticked on the weekends because we don't have cable so on nearly every channel there seems to be either football or golf. I even get a little satisfaction when the Bucs lose just because every one makes a big deal out of them & acted rather crazy when they won the Super Bowl.
So, I'm not a football fan. But, I wanted to go to this game because being somewhere in person & watching something on tv are very different experiences & I knew this would be fun. It still didn't stop me from marveling at all the dedicated (not what I called them in the car) fans that were driving with along the Interstate from over two hours away just to see this game.
But, the game was a lot of fun. I know nothing about football so I was able to enjoy it a little more once Erin & Ray explained some of it to me. I was even up on my feet screaming, clapping, you know, typical game stuff. And it was fun. But you still won't cath me watching a game on tv.
One of my favorite parts were the pages of the PA system.
-"Billy Smith, your brother is waiting for you at the lobby at gate one""
-"Mary Tate, your grandson is waiting for you at the lobby at gate one." The really sad thing about this one is that it was repeated 10-15 minutes later. I guess the grandma was too into the game to go get her poor grandson.
It was a very late night by the time we drove home but we were up at church the next morning. I had nursery during the first service & Ray & I both started our month of teaching Sunday School.
Jen & Gabe invited us over for lunch & we ended up spending the day at their house & went straight to the evening meeting from their place. Then, we had our Sunday School teachers meeting & after that we went to Conrad & Rachels' to hang out.
While there we got to watch the sonogram! It was so fun & so cute. That baby kicks like crazy!
So, we had a very busy weekend & I had a great time. Back to work now!
