It’s been thundering here for awhile but no rain! The storm seems to be skirting around us. Hopefully it’s not hitting Ray, since he’s helping Conrad move today. Not too east to do in the rain.

Tuesday I spent a few hours with Rachel & Ruth. I hadn’t been able to spend much time with them since camp & we had fun just lounging around & watching My Super Sweet 16 & baby shows.

Tuesday evening Ray & I went to see his dad & step-mom (I hadn’t seen them in about four months!). They took us out to a nice little hole in the wall authentic Mexican place. We also showed them some of the ultrasound video. Ray’s dad is still really holding out some hope that we’re having a boy. He asked me, “They can’t really tell this early, can they?”

When we finally got home I wasn’t feeling too well & I tried to sleep but apparently the baby doesn’t like Mexican food from this restaurant either. So, we can add that place to the list of yogurt & Carrabbas that I don’t plan to eat anymore until after I have the baby.

I didn’t sleep much or keep much down that night so much of Wednesday was spent recuperating. I did make it out to the meeting & then we had dinner at Jen & Gabe’s. We didn’t leave until a little after midnight but we had such a nice time relaxing & talking & eating lots of chocolaty dessert while the guys played foosball.

Yesterday was spent at home relaxing most of the day. Not my first choice. While working out in the morning I started having braxton hicks again (I’ve been having them for a little while) so when I finished working out I decided to time them just for fun. In 20 minutes time I had six contractions & some last for over a minute. You’re not supposed to have more than four in an hour so I called my midwife & she instructed me to do different things to get my uterus to relax. But, if they didn’t work she’d probably send me to the hospital for monitoring just to make sure it wasn’t pre-term labor.

So, that’s why I spent a good part of the day doing nothing. By the evening they had subsided quite a bit. I figured it was just the physical activity bringing so many on. That & the fact that it’s hereditary! It seems that’s one of the only things I inherited from my Mom with this pregnancy. She had such strong Braxton hicks contractions that when her doctor monitored them she told my mom that she was in labor; the only this is my Mom had been having braxton hicks like that for months (& she still carried me two weeks late!). So, I’m still watching them but I’m not too concerned. Thankfully I haven’t noticed any today but I’m trying to take it a bit easier now.

I still made it to the jewelry party that Erin had at her house last night, I didn’t buy anything but it sure was fun to look!
