We've had a busy weekend! Yesterday morning Ray's grandfather came over for a little visit & saw Addison for the first time. He's down from TN right now but leaves to go back tomorrow.
I tried to clean the place up a bit in the afternoon because in the evening two of our friends, Scott & his wife Vanessa, came over to decorate Christmas cookies. They'd never seen our place before so I wanted it to look semi-decent!
We had pizza for dinner, decorated the cookies they made & brought over, & watched Elf. I think I'd seen part of it before but never the whole thing - it was pretty funny! Ray was also funny decorating his cookies - he decorated one & ate it, then he decorated one & kept it, decorated & ate, etc. I think he ate about five of the cookies as he was decorating. Check out his platter compared to the rest of ours!
Today Addison made her big debut at church. I kept her in the sling most of the time & it worked out great at keeping people from getting too close! SO much better than taking her in her car seat. This way she was right next to me & she was hidden away enough that people weren't touching/getting right in her face. Here she is in her little skirt she wore this morning.
After church Ray & I went to First Watch for lunch. I had a gift certificate from my mommy shower & was in the mood to go out & not have to cook for us. :)
This afternoon Ray had to work but Heather & Ashley are in town so they stopped by to see the baby (& me!). They got a laugh out of all of the noises & faces she makes - she's not much of a crier (at least not yet) but she likes to hum & grunt & make funny faces when she's dreaming.
The girls were also brave enough to watch some of the birth video. It's really actually not that bad & of course I love watching it, it's so amazing & fascinating!
We also went out to Starbucks while they were here & heather treated us all to coffee (& she gave me a gift certificate for Christmas!). It really doesn't take much to make me happy.
