I can't believe Addison is two months old! I know the time will keep flying by, but it doesn't seem possible that it's been two months.
We had her two month check-up yesterday (it was supposed to be Monday but I was sure it was Tuesday & didn't find out otherwise until Monday afternoon - thankfully they rescheduled!). Anyway, this girl is a porker! She's in the 92nd percentile for weight & 93rd percentile for length! The pediatrician asked if I nurse her 10-15 minutes on each side for each feeding. I told her it was more like 10 minutes on one side per feeding. Addison's very efficient but obviously getting enough. I wasn't concerned, I trust my body to do what it's supposed to & I trust that Addison knows when she's hungry/full.
The pediatrician is also very supportive of me exclusively breastfeeding for the first six months. I still love nursing. I feel very blessed that it's gone so well for us; no cracking or bleeding, she has a good latch, no supply issues...I know it's not this easy for some women & it's easy to see why some would quit if there were such issues. I love nourishing her & knowing that nothing else has entered her system but my breast milk.
Anyway, we received a clean bill of health & are to go back in eight weeks. I'm thinking I need to start pulling out Addison's 3-6 month clothes because I'm noticing a little less room in the 0-3 month items. Its a little sad, not so much because she's growing, but because she has some really cute 0-3 month outfits!
I can tell she's definitely becoming more intereactive. She's been smiling back at us since around 3 weeks but it seems to be increasing more. Yesterday morning I was awake before her & when she woke up she layed in her cradle looking around & started giving me huge smiles. I love it! I love the cooing she does, too. She also tries to mimic us - if you make a popping noise with your mouth she starts sticking her tongue out a lot & sometimes can make the noise, too. She loves laying on her Baby Einstein play mat & staring at the little light up star that plays music. She'll lay there forever watching it & smiling at the star & kicking her legs back & forth. It's so much fun to watch her!
When I put her on her stomach she still lifts up her head but she'll do it for about five minutes straight without laying down at all. I think my neck would hurt doing that! She just looks around though & moves her arms & legs as if she's dying to crawl around. It's a lot of fun to watch but I can't believe how fast she's changing!
