the essence

I really didn't expect to get so many comments on my last post! That video was mostly for my family, I'm glad so many others seemed to enjoy it, though. :)

So, I'm in Orlando today. Since we weren't able to make it for my Dad's birthday on Sunday Ray said we could visit one day this week. Friday was the only day that was possible, which worked out great because there was a family brunch already planned at my grandmothers for this morning. It also worked out nicely because my Dad had an audition in Tampa yesterday & stopped by to visit us so Addison & I just rode over with him last night.

On our way to my grandmother's this morning we stopped at Starbucks & my Mom bought me a coffee. When I went inside there was Trent! I hadn't seen him in months so we got to chat for awhile & he got to see the baby for the first time.

After brunch my Mom took me shopping. I know, I know, we're here to see my Dad but you don't understand my clothing situation. I saw myself in the mirror in my jeans this morning & started to cry. Not because of the extra pudge I have, but because I only own one pair of jeans & even though I can wear them they don't fit well & create a "muffin top" on me. My only pair of sneakers are over four years old & hurt my feet, my nice pair of sandals started falling apart today, & so on. The other day I sat on my sunglasses & they broke so I had to buy a new pair. I also can't remember the last time I bought under garments. SO, I was just a bit overwhelmed with items I needed but didn't know how I would buy with the Christmas money I had left. Enter my mom.

I now have a new pair of jeans, 2 pairs of pants, three new tops, new underwear, a new bra, two pairs of sandals, & new socks. Yea!!! I think the only thing we didn't find were sneakers & that was because I couldn't find anything decent in a size bigger than ten. Yeah, I have mammoth feet.

We also went to lunch & she bought me another coffee. What a fun day for me & completely a surprise!
