the essence

I always loved Memorial Day as a kid. It kind of feels like the kick-off for summer. Plus, my church always had a big pool party so we had lots of fun to look forward to for our long weekend.

While I no longer have any fun activities set in stone every year, this year I'll be heading over to Orlando for the first part of next week. This has nothing to do with Memorial Day though, this just happened to be the week that works best for me to go over.

Rather than just hang out like we usually do the plan is for my Mom & I to do some serious crafting. How serious? She's going to teach me to sew! She tried teaching me when I was a kid & I still kick myself for refusing to learn. I've been wanting to learn to sew for years now & while she was in KY she bought me a $250 sewing machine at a garage sale (for only $25!!!). I'm so excited about this, I'm hoping it all works out.

But, first I should tell you how we're kicking off this week: my mom is taking Megan & me to the Bangles concert at Busch Gardens on Sunday!!!!! How much fun will that be??? I've been pumping everyday in order to get enough bottles ready since Addison will be spending the day with Ray. I'm so excited!!!
