the essence

Wednesday was a Southern Living party at Charisse's place. Or, as she worded it, a Mojitos and Margaritas for Mama party! I was completely up for that & had a great evening.

Thursday I entertained an old friend from camp, she lives close by & is newly pregnant so she came over for lunch & we were able to chat for a bit.

Friday evening we had a going away party for some friends who have moved to California.

Saturday was the bridal shower for Megan! As previously mentioned I was in charge of games. So, the activity I came up with was for all of the ladies to collage a page that reminded them of Megan using words & pictures from magazines. Then, on the back of the page, they were to write a note of advice. The activity was such a hit, everyone seemed to enjoy it & Megan was left with a nice memento from her shower.

I three-hole-punched the paper & made a book cover out of some thin cardboard. I fabric covered the cardboard & embellished it with ribbon & such & made the letter "M" out of some ribbon. When the pages were finished I tied them into the book cover with some ribbon. I thought it was really cute - when Megan sends me the pictures (hint, hint) I'll post them. My mom made those decorations hanging from the ceiling - aren't they cool?!? And these were some other decorations she made as well as the favors.





The favors were Hershey bars covered with wrapping paper & labeled with a "K" sticker (the first letter of Megan's new last name).
