I broke my cardinal rule of decorating: don't decorate for a season before it begins.

It was innocent enough. When my parents were here two weekends ago (& last weekend) I was lamenting to my mom aobut wanting to get new decor for my home. She started going through what I had & when I came back to the room my entry table was full of Autumn decorations! Then, last weekend, she brought some of her stuff she doesn't want right now & we changed up some more things.

I'm rather enjoying easing into Autumn. I highly anticipate the official start of Fall & putting out my decorations that day. But, that's an awful lot of pressure & it seems to lead me to feel slightly disappointed after all of the build-up.

Now, I have out a lot of my decorations already & I love it! It's actually COOL outside, too. I opened my house yesterday afternoon, it's been very overcast & rainy This morning I've opened my house again & it's actually cooler in here with the windows open than it was with the a/c on! One of the benefits of living on the west coast.
