the essence

Our weekend has been spent watching "24." Okay, not our WHOLE weekend, but let's just say we're over halfway through the first season since Saturday night. I've heard about how great this show is but I wouldn't let myself watch it because I didn't want to get hooked on another show. But, we started watching it with some of our friends so now I'm renting the seasons from the library - perfect timing with the writer's strike and all.



Besides watching "24" there was also a football tournament at camp this weekend. I didn't go but Ray actually went & played! He's never been much of a football player so I was very impressed to find out he made some sacks & a touchdown! He even made money doing it because some of the guys started paying him for each sack he made (I guess they were also surprised that he was doing so well).

Ray was out all day so Addison & I ran out to Toy's 'r Us to get some birthday presents for a party later in the day. We also stopped by a local sewing store that sells Amy Butler fabric - So pretty but you can get it for cheaper online! We also went to JoAnn Fabrics. I got a couple of half yards & I just love looking at these patterns/colors together. After that we went to the birthday party & finally made it home!

As you can probably tell I've also been working on my sewing a bit lately. I've been tweaking some things & I feel like I'm making some progress. Time will tell....
