the essence

This past Saturday Erin had one last shower; this one was a mommy shower, so it was gifts for her rather than the baby. I gave her an assortment of chocolates & she also received restaurant gift cards & mani/pedi certificates. This shower is such a good idea for moms!



Rachel hosted this one & did everything herself. She went with a green & white Asian theme so we even ate on the floor. It was great because the shower was small enough that she could set/decorate the table, which, I think, makes a huge impact.





See those floor pillows? That was Rach's first sewing project! Aren't they pretty??? They doubled as party favors, too. I may have to post later what I intend to do with mine.

She also made the food, which was DELICIOUS! One of my favorite things is always the food. :) She made a chicken saytay, beef stir fry, jasmine rice, a delicious salad, & there were crab rangoons. I don't remember what dessert was called but it was basically banana with cinnamon, fried inside of a wonton. It was served with ice cream & chocolate drizzle.
