the essence

Last week I pulled out the little play gym for Kate. I don't think Addison remembers it, but she's pretty excited about anything that has to do with "Baby Kate." After pulling the gym out I heard "here you go, Kate" so I had to sneak a peek. This is what I found:



Addison had placed the star toy from the gym in front of Kate's face & then laid down behind her. It's so sweet! Whenever I get the gym out Addison wants to lay down on it with Kate & stroke her hair & stuff.

In other news, the piano lessons are going fine, so far, but I think that's mostly because Ray has, thankfully, been here for all of them. That will not always be the case. Addison is still the biggest challenge because she wants to be in the piano room with me but won't sit there quietly. So she's way too distracting. But if Ray's not there & she's noisy that means I'll have to put Addison in her bed to play. That's fine for one lesson but I feel bad sticking her in there for two hours.

I did get to have some fun & go to lunch with Paige yesterday. We went to Vallartas, a local Mexican place, & it was delicious! It was also really inexpensive which made it extra nice. I need more self-control for the rest of the week to eat better, though. I'm desperately tying to eat better (overall) & workout! I need my old clothes to fit & right now they most definitely don't!
