the essence

Unfortunately, Thursday with my family didn't happen. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. My mom & grandmother were on their way when I got the call that my mom was having a reaction to the chemicals in the car (you know, that whole "new car smell" that can stick around even after two years) so they had to turn around & go back home. Apparently my mom & I both spent a good while crying & eating chocolate. Like mother, like daughter.

My parents did get their car back from the shop that day & it seems my mom is able to ride in it again. My dad has an audition here on Monday so my parents are planning to come tomorrow! I'm again very excited! My grandmother plans to make a separate trip on Thursday.

In other news, Kate seems to have her first cold. The poor girl is coughing & has some congestion. I feel like its always worse seeing a little baby with a cold than an older child. She seems to be doing okay but I do think she's sleeping a bit more. She actually slept for 8 hours straight two nights ago!

Today's agenda includes staying warm. I don't care that the national maps show a sun over Florida, the 50's are cold for us!
