Saturday was a beach day at Ft. Desoto with Ray's family. Ray didn't know if I would go & gladly offered to just take Addison with him. It was a very tempting offer. That's almost like having the house/day to myself. However, even though I wasn't dying to go I knew I'd probably have a good time & would regret if I didn't go.
Was I ever right. It turned out to be such a fun day! It was hot, but there are plenty of trees along the beach with picnic benches underneath. We even brought the pack 'n play which Kate put to good use & napped in amidst all of the noise after her first dip in the ocean.
And, that first dip in the ocean was my absolute favorite part of the trip. Kate first got splashed in the face with a big wave, which she didn't like & proceeded to bury her face in my shoulder. But, I took her out until the water reached my shoulders & Kate started kicking her little legs so fast, splashing her hands in the water & squealing with glee! How I wish I had a waterproof camera!
While Kate napped I took the opportunity to lounge in the shade while rereading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Ray's 5-year-old cousin was there & he & Addison had the best time running around with each other & playing! How I wish I had their energy!
Ray, the grill master
The car ride home looked like this:
Peaceful & quiet. Ray & I ended the night with pizza & a movie, He's Just Not That Into You. I'd seen it, but Ray hadn't - thankfully he likes chick flicks & it was much better than that mmovie we rented the week before!
