Despair! Worry!

I had one can of pumpkin in my pantry which I used to whip up some pumpkin bread a couple of weeks ago. Every time I go to the grocery store I check to buy some more & they've continually been out for weeks. I've been rather disappointed as this is the season I being to use those cans of pumpkin!

Today , at Publix, I saw a little sign under the empty spot where the cans should be displayed.

We are sold out of Libby's pumpkin due to a crop shortage.

Saw what?!? I couldn't believe it, usually the shelves are stocked with that stuff this time of year. I know, I could just buy a pumpkin but I barely have time to bake right now, much less make my own pumpkin puree.

Thankfully, I found this news article today, which means all should soon be right in my little baking world.

My Jessica and I crave pumpkin goodies, also. We've been getting pumpkin muffies from Panera's! We were at the Fresh Market this past Saturday and they had canned pumpkin. Publix tells me it should be back in October so we'll see. Good luck finding it!

Oh yes, pumpkins are a LOT smaller this year because of all the rain we've had here! Crazy!

Interesting. So THAT'S why there has rarely been any on our shelves, either! (I live in MN.) We're hosting Thanksgiving at our house for my side of the family and my hubby has been trying to perfect a new pumpkin pie recipe, so we've been going through several cans lately...and eating tons of pumpkin pie (not complaining, though!).
