We are quickly approaching the birthday week for our family. (I still can't believe I ended up having my kids within 5 days of each other. I don't think that's something you really plan for if you can help it!)
I've been mulling over their upcoming birthday party since early this summer, excited to plan something, but too exhausted from this job to really get the creative juices flowing. In fact, while I'm toying with some theme ideas, I think the most definite things I have planned are:
1. The date (I think): Saturday, December 5, Kate's actual first birthday
2. A small party, just family & a few close friends
And, while this cake is totally in dreamland, I did come across it online & just loved it & had to share it with you! Isn't it great? I just love the colors, this cake is so "me!"

So, does anyone have any suggestions for a birthday party for a combined one-and-three-year-old? Like I said, I've been getting some ideas, but they will remain secret for now! :)

you need that cake!
Oh, fun! Our two youngest are 3 days apart. NO, it's not something you plan. They were actually due the same day!!!
This year was the first time we celebrated two different events, both quite simple. I was feeling sentimental and wanted each to have their own day.
I think you need that cake, too! :)
P.S. I fell in love with this "green birthday party."

How about a "Tea Party"! Not a normal tea, but Alice in Wonderland style with bright colors, fun hats, and cute dresses! Colorful sweets all served up in tiny tea cups and plate. Don't forget the Cheshire Cat or the Rabbit!
You could totally do this cake too!
I agree. you could do this cake. it really doesn't look like it would be too insane to make. And you never know until you try!
Do you know how to make fondant icing? I have always wanted to try but never been brave enough.
I totally cannot believe that Kate is almost one year old.
