That's right, my "baby" turned three yesterday! I would've loved to have done the day real special for her but Ray & both had to work all day. Thankfully, she's still young enough not to realize or care that we didn't do a huge special day for her plus I did have Ray get her a cupcake from Publix in the morning & I had her present wrapped. So, during the 30 minute break between me finishing my shift & Ray starting his we sang "Happy Birthday" to Addison (while she sang along-she LOVES singing "Happy Birthday") gave her the cupcake & her present, so I think she was happy.
She really didn't care about the present, all she's wanted for her birthday is cake. Cake, cake, cake! If you ask her what she wants, that's her answer. Addison was SO excited when she saw her cupcake. I don't know what she'll think when she sees the big cake at her party on Saturday.
Addison really didn't care much about opening her present but she was pretty excited about it once she finished with her cupcake. It's a set of Lincoln Logs I bought on clearance at Target for around $2 about two years ago. I've also held onto a slip 'n slide I bought around the same time for around the same price. Maybe that will be her gift next year. :)
While Addison ate her cupcake we had Kate in the high chair next to her. Addison decided it would be more fun to feed Kate her frosting rather than eat it herself.
Addison has a HUGE personality. It can prove to be difficult at times but it can also be extremely entertaining. Yesterday Addison was sitting at the kitchen table & I was getting her something & all of a sudden she broke out singing "Mama Mia!" Apparently my mom taught her that on her last visit; my favorite part is when she sings, "How can I resist you?"
Addison can be quite shy but also loves a crowd & entertaining. She sings ALL. The. Time. She also dances while she sings or plays the piano. On Sunday she even got up on the stage in front of everyone at church and said her Bible verse, Genesis 1:1. I wish I could've been there to see it but I was home with kate since she was sick. Addison almost went up the week before but was too shy. & wanted me to go with her. This time she almost didn't go again until Ray got up & sat close to the stage while she aid her verse. After the kids say their verses they get to pick out a piece of candy.
Addison will pretty much do anything for candy. That's actually how we potty trained her. She's so incredibly stubborn. She's been able to go for a year but simply refused. So, after trick-or-treating we told her she could have a piece of candy after going potty. She potty trained right away. She went on the big ones fine, too, until we went to camp. She said she had to go but when we walked in the bathroom she said it was "too dirty" (it was fine, there was just wet grass on the floor from people's shoes) and then she refused to go on the "big" potty for a couple of weeks after that. The solution? No more candy unless she went on the "big" potty. Problem solved. Everything is on her own terms.
Happy birthday, Addison!

I think its funny that Ray is trying to discourage her from sharing. Meg says its because he's an only child :)
