Girls Night Out

One of my favorite traditions we've started is a "Mommy Shower"/girls night out when we're towards the end of pregnancy. It's so nice to get out at least one last time with no kids before the new baby is born. The mommy gets gifts! Gift cards for restaurants, little pampering things, etc. & we ALL get out for a bit with good friends!

Rach is due in less than a month now so Erin & I organized her get together & she picked a quaint little Thai place, yum! Did I mention how much I love girls night out?

Because we went out there wasn't much prep we had to do but Erin & I decided it would be nice to do some favors. A friend had suggested making candy sushi, using things like fruit roll-ups & candy from an Asian store. When I was researching it I came across another version of candy sushi which sounded even yummier & easier! They weren't bad either, although I don't really see how rice krispie treats covered in chocolate could taste bad. Unfortunately, I didn't get a great picture and by the time I took a picture these were the only two pieces I had left & they weren't the best looking ones!

My chocolate must have been a lot thicker than what the tutorial had because when I tried to make the top so that you could see the "rice" it became very messy & unattractive. That's when I gave in & just loaded on the chocolate!

Erin took care of the containers for the candies. I just love the cute little take-out boxes from craft stores so that was a no-brainer for us & she had the great idea to write "thank you" on the tags - in English & Thai! She did such a good job that our waiter saw the tags & started looking around the table to see who there was Thai. He was quite impressed!

After dinner we headed to Starbucks, something I'd been dying to do before dinner. By the time we walked over there my craving was gone & I was the only person who didn't get anything. I know, me! Not get coffee! That's just not right.
