How Wheat Works
Whether you admit to it or not, probably at least half of the people who read this blog have played Farmville on Facebook. You know, you plant your fields, harvest, sell, buy more fields, replant and so on. If you like playing Farmville then you should check out How Wheat Works. Wheat is the most consumed grain in America & How Wheat Works is offering us the opportunity to give wheat to US troups and their families in need.
The site allows you to virutally plant your own wheat fields, harvest the wheat, and virtually eat the harvest. However, unlike Farmville, the experience includes additional information at the end of each phase, such as harvest videos, discovery wheat grown in your area and preparing wheat based recipes. Of course, the best part is that for each participant the Wheat Foods Council will donate two pounds of flour (up to 90,000 pounds) to Operation Homefront, which is the non-profit organization that provides assistance to military families in need.
So, step away from facebook for a little while, go visit How Wheat Works, and start choosing the type of wheat you would like to harvest and mill in order to help a family in need!
