Mawmaw

Yesterday we picked up my grandmother from the nursing home & took her back to her home for the day. It was nice getting to be there with her. It was the first time she'd been back in over a year & she seemed to enjoy it, too. 

The kids loved her & Kate kept sitting on her lap for hugs & cuddled; she also told Mawmaw to "rock faster" to roll the wheelchair back & forth.

We stopped by the nursing home on our drive out of town to say goodbye & I very nearly cried as we left. Okay, I could've cried if I let myself. I don't know when we'll get the chance to come back again or what the circumstances will be at that time.

Today we made the drive to Asheville, NC & our plan is to spend Ray's birthday tomorrow at the Biltmore Estate. I'm SO excited, we haven't been there in over five years!
