Two weeks, Six days

Yes, in less than three weeks Ray & I will be going on a ten-year-anniversary trip to California! Ten days visiting San Francisco, Big Sur/Carmel, Yosemite and Napa - just the two of us!

This all still seems so surreal - I can't believe we're actually going on this vacation! It feels quite luxurious, too. I even feel a little guilty about this, I wish I could send all of my deserving family and friends on a relaxing vacation!

We always talked about doing something big for our ten-year, but, it seemed doubtful that anything would really happen. Early in the year I had the idea for us to visit Napa & I was able to get five nights with our employee discount. I booked it & then told Ray. He wasn't on board! He kept going on about waiting to go somewhere in October, etc. I was disappointed that he wasn't into my Napa idea. After a few weeks he finally told me,

"You ruined my surprise. I was going to take you to Italy for two weeks."

WHAT?!?

I was shocked. That was my dream anniversary getaway that I never even mentioned because I didn't think it would be possible. It turns out Ray had been formulating this idea for a year & a half. He'd figured out that we have the credit card points to get us two International flights and he wanted to go in October.

For various reasons we decided to wait on Italy. One of those reasons is because our hotel benefits don't extend overseas so it doesn't really matter if we go to Italy while we're working for the hotel or not. Once we quit this job California will probably not be a possibility so we're going now. I'm so excited!!!

The countdown's on!

OOOOhhhhh we loved California! The Napa Valley, San Fran - simply wonderful. Our favourite vineyard was (http://www.vsattui.com/) V Sattui Wines, I encourage you to check them out if you get a chance. :)

You will love it! It's so beautiful. I wish we'd had more time when we were there. The drive up the Pacific coast hwy is so fantastic. Take a jacket it gets pretty cool.

Hope you have a wonderful time! We went there before we had kids and saw all those places in your photos! We even saw a commercial being filmed on that zig-zag winding street. You should try to see some of the redwood forests. They are amazing and such a good reminder of the awesomeness and beauty of our God!
