Slumber Party

Tonight is Addison's first real slumber party. There have been many nights of travel & being in the same house as friends, but, this is the first time it's just been she & a friend spending the night together.

With VBS this week it's the perfect timing for slumber parties, too! Tonight one of Addison's CC friends is spending the night & there's plans for another slumber party with another friend later this week. I love it!

And, oh, the memories! I always loved slumber parties as a kid & I was a pro at staying up later than anyone else! It's now past midnight & the girls are still in fits of giggles in bed. I love overhearing their conversations, too. The "stories" they tell (Once there was a person who was a person. The end.) & old knock-knock jokes (Knock-knock. Who's there? Boo. Boo who? You don't have to cry about it!)

When we arrived home from VBS I made the girls a snack & let them pick a movie to watch. Their exciting choice? "John the Baptist" Such wild children, I tell you. I'm earning cool mom points tonight for letting them stay up late & watch a movie while eating nachos in MY bed!
