the essence

I finally slept in this morning. I remember when I used to hate getting up before, let's say, 8 a.m. but now I try to get up at 6:30. I guess it's the whole maximize the hours in my day thing.

Yesterday I was supposed to hear from the lady at work to find out if she needed me to come in. Well, of course I didn't want to work, I wanted to go shopping so I left early & hit some great sales at Target & bought some Christmas decorations for next year. I also went to the dollar store which had some fun toys. They had a pack of 15 glow necklaces for $1 & my mom had me by 5 boxes for her New Year's Eve party, which I'm really looking forward to.

I made sure to get home by around 9:30 in case the woman called. She never did so I went out again & did some more shopping/errands. For Christmas I received $40 in gift certifiactes to Target, $40 for Michaels, & $20 for Barnes & Noble. Ray & I also received gift certifiates to SIX restaurants, plus some movie tickets. We're set for dates for a couple of months now.

My mom gave me (drum roll please)...one of those paraffin wax spa things! YEA! I've wanted one for YEARS. I think I might try it out today. It takes about 8 hours to melt the wax so you kind of have to plan ahead when you want to use it. But I figure I'll make an easy dinner so that won't be time consuming & I'll give myself enough time to get home from teaching piano. So, hopefully around 5:00 today I'll get to try it out. (which means I need to plug it in now!)

Yesterday I finally picked out my classes for next semester. Lord willing I'll be taking 15 hours at USF but they're saying they still need some of my transcripts & everything. I tried registering online yesterday & I kept getting the registration error saying the class was full. EXCEPT for one of the classes. PRAISE THE LORD! The reason why this is so great is because if I'm not registered for at least one class by a certain time something awful like all my hair falling out will happen...or USF just won't let me take any classes next semester, I forget which one it is. So, although I still need 4 more classes I'm so thankful that I at least have one already & can maybe get on a waiting list for the other one.

Ray should be leaving for work soon & I think I might call one of my friends & see if she can come over today. I start work again next week & I think school is the week after that. :( Oh well, at least I had a nice break. :)
