I just got a job offer.

I know I won't say yes, but it's still flattering.

I went downtown this morning to file a bankruptcy petition & on my way back to the office I noticed the name of an old high school buddy of Ray's on a sign on the side of a building. He's a PI attorney now who is apparently doing quite well for himself.

We haven't seen him in about 9 months so on a whim I decided to stop & say "hi." After finishing with a client he pulled me into his office, asked me what I've been doing lately for work, asked me to shut the door, & then offered me a job.

It's bascially what I do now but for a little more pay. I think it would be odd to work with an old friend of Ray's & I tried to gently let him know that I'm transitioning into another job & I like to be able to commit to something for awhile if I say yes.

So that was my surprise for the day.

--------

It seems that Tuesday nights are becoming busy nights now. At least for the past couple of weeks. Last night we had a surprise house warming party for someone who actually hasn't bought a house.

She's new to the country, from France, & just got a tiny apartment & doesn't have much for it. The party was nice, Rach & Ella did a great job of putting it together, it was just funny to me having this party for someone who hasn't bought a house, that wasn't in her new place, & that she didn't even know about (all factors that usually contribute to a so-called house warming party). But, with her circumstances of not knowing people in this country & being new here, it was understandable.

There was lots of yummy yummy food & we played an interesting game in which I found out I know a lot less about the people around me than I thought. The most interesting fact (which I just happened to already know) is that one of the older woman at our church never ate a grape unless it was peeled until she was married. Sounds like too much work to me!

And last Tuesday evening Ray had a couple of guys over so I decided to go out on the town with Lori, our new attorney at work. We met up with one of her other friends she went to school with, Viv, at Channelside for dinner. I was quite intriguing to them simply because I'm married and only 21. They are 26 & 30 respectively & both quite single, mostly because they were so focused for law school. So Lori wanted to see wedding pictures, I was asked about my honeymoon, & it was just funny to have these two working girls take such an interest in those things.

The dinner was lovely though. We were seated right along the bay, there were big picture windows running all along the wall & we had a perfect view as the sun was setting.

I do want to tell Mom to have no fear, I have been sleeping more & taking time to relax & rest at home. :)
