So, its highly unlikely I will forget this past birthday.
We decided to chance the rain & Ray & I went to Adventure Island. It was something completely different than what we normally do, neither of us had been to a water park in years. It was so much fun & it didn't rain once.
But, when we got back to the car, someone had broken into our trunk & stole my purse that I had hidden back there. I just lost it & started crying. I think I was in a state of disbelief/shock. EVERYTHING was in there. You know how it is girls, your purse is like your life.
It was one of my favorite purses, it held my only wallet, $60 in cash, around $150 in gift cards, my $150 cell phone (at least we got THAT for free), my pair of sunglasses that aren't broken, all of my ID (thankfully my social security card wasn't in there), my keys (home, work, church, car), my eye drops, cosmetics & even my birth control pills!
The good news is we found out my purse was gone around 5:40 pm & by 7:00 we had the credit/debit cards closed & reissued & my phone turned off. We also had the lock changed on our apartment by about 7:40 (whoever stole the purse had our home address AND the key).
The bad news is we lost roughly $400.
Another "good" thing, at least to me, is that the birth control pills were in there. I've been wanting to go off for awhile because they completely mess with my body but Ray & I haven't had a chance to truly discuss the issue. Now we don't seem to really need to. :) I haven't been able to take them since Friday & I don't think we're going to refill the prescription.
Another bad thing is that we finalized our budget on Friday night & its incredibly tight. As in we didn't even figure in spending money (not even enough for a weekly coffee!) & we're going to have to make much more money than we have been. So, all of those gift cards I was spending so frugally in order to treat myself are now gone.
So, that's my birthday story. At least the people at blockbuster were nice & let me check out a movie even though I didn't have a card or my ID on me. The one guy who I told m story too seemed rather upset that this happened on my birthday. He told the cashier as I was leaving "Man, its her birthday!" He was really sweet, kind of goofy too. :)
Anyway, I still had a nice time because Ray & I had so much fun together that day. It was nice to do something different & spend all day together just goofing off at the park. I love those slides (they don't love my back though, I've been needing massages every night since!).
