the essence

Thanks for all the congrats on the house everyone. :) I'm so excited, I screamed & started jumping all around the apartment when I found out last night. I'v been giddy all day. :) AND, I had a girls night out with Rach to look forward to tonight.

She was out of town last week so we went to our movie tonight while our husbands did the nerdy thing & gamed. :) The bonus for me was that I had the rest of the gift certificate to AMC that Megan gave us for Christmas so I splurged on the movie, popcorn, & candy (I didn't have enough left after the movie to pay for another movie later on so I got yummy water-retaining snacks). :)

We saw "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants." It was cute, not one I'd normally see in the theater but it was PERFECT for a girls night. Being best friends & all you know. But, our other close friend Val couldn't be there & we were really missing her after the movie & called her up in Tallahassee.

In the movie the 4 girls share a pair of jeans over the summer & tell what happened to them while the jeans were in their possession. It reminded me of one summer a few years ago when Me, Val, & Rach were all apart so we bought matching journals & kept diaries about the many exciting excapades we had over the summer. :) At the end of the summer we swapped journals & read each others exciting & very different tales. Val spent her summer with extended family who live in Hawaii, I spent my time working at Camp Horizon in Leesburg, & Rach spent her time at home in tiny Umatilla working & visiting me periodically at camp.

When we got back to Rach's place tonight we pulled out her journal & read some excerpts & shrieked in laughter at all of the fun memories we found in her "special box." Now I need to find my old journal from that summer. :)
