the essence

I've noticed that since I've been home from my vacation that I've been less concerned about time. At least on the weekends. Usually, if I'm at home, I have this tight schedule in my head of things to get done so I can have my time to relax. Usually the chores take longer than expected, sometimes relaxing time is completely cut out, & even when its not I find it's not that enjoyable (maybe because its scheduled?).

Anyway, last Saturday I had my dress alteration (yea for taking a lot in!), & then came home & Ray & I cleaned & I think I watched movies, scrapbooked, & just lounged around not caring about how much time I had left in the day. It was really nice. (Usually I'm afraid of not using every moment to the fullest & of wasting time - I'm discovering that when I try too hard I'm not enjoying every moment anyway).

Today I actually slept in & then we cleaned some more, I made us breakfast & Ray headed off to work. I went to Sears to return the wrong vacuum bags that I purchased yesterday & to buy some cute shoes that are going to be a birthday present from Rachel (I told her about them yesterday & she told me they could be my present - the best gifts are sometimes the ones you pick out yourself!). Then I headed to Starbucks to indulge in a Venti Java Chip Frappuccino, the likes of which I haven't had in about a month & don't plan on having again for a long time. I sat outside with some magazines & read in the shade for awhile.

Its just so hot out. Amazingly enough its not raining now, which is nice for a change. The sun is actually shining. We're supposed to be getting a bunch of rain because of the tropical storm nearby.

That's a bit of a problem for us. We have to get home owners insurance by the end of the month but if there's a tropical storm in a certain area in & around Florida you can't get insurance (the joys of living in Florida!). Hopefully we won't have any storms for a bit & we'll be able to make our deadline.

Well, I'm going to go change the vacuum bag & clean up some of this cat hair. :p
