the essence

Lst night was our first ladies meeting of the season. It was alright, I enjoyed it, although in retrospect I realize it was rather mundane. I think I had fun because I sat by Rachel at the far end of the table & we were able to chat a bunch during dinner.

Rachel also got up the guts to talk to the ladies about about our MCS & wearing perfume last night. She & I are always leaving the meeting because our allergies to the fumes just keep getting worse. All of the ladies seemed very receptive. At least no one seemed to be offended. In fact a lot of them prayed for it later, for us & also for their consideration of us so that was encouraging. I found a great article that is short & factual (not emotional) on the subject that Rach handed out to the ladies afterwards. I recommend you read it here. When Rach & I read it we both went through each of the criteria &, unfortunately, were able to agree with all of them.

In other news I'll finally be teaching Sunday School too! I let them know I'd like to teach this year & Wednesday night one of the elders caught up with me to let me know I'll be teaching what I think are early elementary school kids. The other teacher for that class is Erin but we'll never actually teach together. The way this church does it is each class usually has two teachers & they split up the months so that way they're not always missing the meeting. It's a different idea (at least to me) & the kids seem to enjoy the change a new teacher brings.

Our painting is progressing & I see another busy day ahead of us.
