the essence

Today is a big day for us. Not only is it our four-year anniversary but it's also the first time we get to hear the baby's heartbeat! We're both very excited about the latter.

The appointment is for 9am. I'm not quite 12 weeks yet so there's the possibility we still won't be able to hear the heartbeat. Thankfully I'm thin so there's a better chance we will be able to hear it. If not, they'll have us back next week.

Ray's grandmother wants to take us out to lunch today for our anniversary so I think we're going to a little Italian place or something. And we might go see a movie, except that there's still nothing that looks too great out.
