the essence

One of my best friends, Ruth, just had her baby girl about an hour ago! Karine Jo (not sure of spelling) arrived at 12:54 a.m. Apparently things went well, although her husband told me it was a bit traumatic - for him. :) Yes, I'm one of those crazy friends who likes to be called all hours of the night when my friends go into labor/have their baby.

I can't believe it's been this long since my trip up to visit Ruth in Pennsylvania. She was only about 6 weeks along then & I was one of the first people she told she was pregnant. A little hard since Ray & I had still been unsuccessful at that point, but I was still so thrilled for her & we spent most of the visit lounging around (hello, morning sickness!) looking at pregnancy books. The time has just flown by!
