the essence

Today I drove to South Tampa for lunch with some former coworkers. I was also able to partake in delicious Maggiano's stuffed mushrooms - those are some of my favorites!

I stopped at the Barnes & Noble that I used to frequent nearly everyday when I worked down there & Ruth gave me a call. Karine is almost three weeks old already and they seem to be doing pretty well! It was so nice to talk to Ruth, I really miss getting to see her. When I worked down in South Tampa we used to get together pretty much every week for lunch; this lasted over a year so I definitely miss her when I'm in that part of town.

While talking we brought up the fact that this weekend will be one year since our D.C. trip together. When we met up on Friday night in a parking lot close to her in-laws home, I said, "Guess What?"

Ruth: "You're pregnant???"

Me: "No, but we're trying!"

That was our first month trying so I was very excited, especially since she knew it took Ray a little while to warm up to the idea. Now, a year later she has her little one & mine should be here soon. Things sure do change quickly!
