Wrote this last night:
I feel SO tired right now. Stephen drove over this evening, he's down from Minnesota right now & he took us out to dinner at Olive Garden tonight. You know I love those salad & breadsticks! Then, we stopped at Blockbuster & right now we're watching Taladega Nights. It's not as funny as I thought/hoped it would be. Stephen may end up staying the night, too.
I had a very brief period today when I really wanted to clean. Unfortunately, I had to get Addison on my insurance today & after I finished that up & then ate I had lost my motivation. I cleaned a little in my bathroom but that was about it. Thankfully, my parents were super helpful when they came yesterday & did a lot of cleaning for me. That's actually one of the reasons they come over periodically - of course to see us & the baby, but also to help us out around the house since we're a little preoccupied this first month of Addison being here!
I do want to mention how much I love my new swiffer! That thing is amazing & so quick! I just love it!
I can't believe Addison will already be a month old tomorrow. I can't believe I was in labor this time a month ago! lol About a week ago we noticed that she would purposely smile at people. I love that! It's also fun watching her get her diaper changed. She seems to like it & when Ray talks to her while I change her she gets REALLY excited! It's adorable, she gets this cute look on her face & starts kicking her legs back & forth a lot.
I finally looked up baby milestones & I was a little surprised at how many things she's doing now (& even did the day we brought her home, like pushing herself off of my chest when I would hold her & lifting her head & looking into our eyes) that it says she shouldn't be doing until around 3-4 months old. I know those are just averages, but she was doing some of those things at less than a day old! Even if she's not the only baby to do that I have to be a little bit of a proud mommy. :) Regardless of when the "Experts" say she should be doing things I just love watching all she does & seeing her personality. I really love how she just gazes into our eyes, its so sweet.
She's still a pretty quiet baby & most of the time when she's awake she just looks around with wide eyes. She will also hum, especially when she's nursing. She's a grunter too, but that's mostly when she has to poop. :) I did notice today that she seems to be getting more vocal, I noticed that she makes noises & responds when we talk to her.
Anyway, I know that was long & very baby-related but part of that is so that I'll remember!
