Happy 2007!

I have had a not so great start to the new year. My body decided to get sick. Blah.

Around 7 pm Sunday night, New Year's Eve, I started feeling funny - a dry throat & extreme thirst. Ray was at church & then he came home & picked me up & we went to visit his family. Around 10 I was feeling a little worse & by midnight I truly felt sick & just wanted to go home. At least we had a nice time visiting & Addison pretty much slept the whole time (even through the fireworks!).

We got home & I was freezing but didn't have a fever. When I woke up about two hours later I had a fever around 101 degrees. It definitely was not so fun having to take care of someone else while sick, but as bad as I felt I noticed that knowing I had to feed Addison helped me to not notice how sick I was while caring for her.

Thankfully, around 7 my fever was already down to 99 and stay in that range all day. In the afternoon I finally caved & took a tylenol - I hate taking anything (& hadn't before) like that since I'm breastfeeding, no matter how "safe" it's supposed to be. It didn't even work! Finally, I took Bryonia & that brought my fever down & I took it again before bed & my fever broke! Now, if I could only get rid of this sore throat & overall feeling of ickiness.

For some reason ice cream really feels good on my throat & I overdid it on the ice cream yesterday. Poor Addison was up for about 4 hours last night squealing in pain. She finally fell back to sleep so Ray & I got about two solid hours of sleep in before we had to get up for the pediatrician appointment. We arrived about an hour early because I had the time wrong - oops. I kept thinking that we could have had an extra hour of sleep! Ray was really sweet about it even though he was really tired.

At the appointment we found out she weighs 10 pounds 2 ounces! That's one pound in two weeks, so just a little over the ounce a day she's supposed to gain.

I bought myself a little something yesterday with some of my Christmas money - "The Office - Season Two" on dvd! I bought it new on amazon so with shipping & everything it was only $26!!! I can't wait for that to get here, I love shows that can really make me laugh.
