the essence

Yesterday Jen & her two girls came over for lunch. I made a simple pasta dish & Jen brought the salad & bread with a homemade garlic sauce (yum!). She also brought a brownie mix that she whipped up for us.

Amazingly after lunch, all three kids went down for a nap at the same time - both babies & a toddler! So, Jen & I sat back, ate our brownies, drank milk (for her) & coffee (for me) & watched four episodes of The Office, season two before she had to go home! It was so nice. :)

The sad thing is that my parents weren't able to make it over last night. The reason they didn't make it is excellent, though - my Dad has an audition in Miami for a national Volvo commercial at noon today! Next Tuesday he has an audidtion for an HBO movie. I'd love to see him get one (or both) of those.
