I made a lovely quiche for breakfast (I slightly modified the recipe - and of course made a homemade pie crust!) & Heather & I went to Target for some coffee & shopping!
After picking up Addison from home the three of us went to International. First stop: Nordstrom for the free $30 blush. Problem: They ran out of the promo item that morning (we were there before 1 & the promo only started yesterday!).
We stopped for a food court lunch & then hit Ann Taylor Loft. I'm SO glad I saved my gift card for Heather's visit. Heather is like the shopping queen with exquisite taste & it's just so much more fun to go out & actually be able to buy stuff. I bought two really cute tops & a pair of sunglasses (on sale for less then $5!) with the rest of my gift card.
Here are the two tops I bought; I did not buy a black & white maternity top, that's just the only picture of it I could find on the website. I bought the regular version & Heather bought the maternity one - now we can match!
After the mall we stopped at Babies R Us, Barnes & Noble, & then Ray joined us for dinner at Olive Garden (Heather's treat!). Addison was such a trooper this whole time, she got fussy for a bit because she was overly tired but then she'd get a cat nap in the car & be okay for awhile.
She sat in a high chair at Olive Garden for the first time (we haven't needed to pull hers out yet) & had fun playing with the coloring paper they gave her. I also found an Olive in the salad & wanted to see what kind of face Addison would make if I let her try it. Imagine how surprised I was when she sucked on it & kept wanting more!
I kept letting Addison try it until she suddenly bit down & took a huge chunk off which I quickly fished out of her mouth before we had to perform the baby Heimlich maneuver!
I was really surprised because this is the girl who just turned nine months old last week & is still exclusively nursing. Not only will she not eat solids but she tightens her lips together & tosses her head about to get as far away from any solid food as possible. That's why I was so surprised.
After arriving back home (after eight hours!) I put Addison to bed & then Heather & I made another quick trip to Target. We've made it a bit of an earlier night tonight since we didn't get to bed until after 1 last night!
Tomorrow morning I plan to make scones with strawberry preserves & homemade whipped cream for breakfast, we'll go to church, & then to Heather's in-laws for lunch!
Busy, busy!
