Megan and Matthew (M&M) got married on Saturday in my parents backyard. It was raining off & on all morning (I prayed it'd clear up so they could get married outside) & right before 11 the rain went away. I quickly ushered the roughly 30 guests outside & the ceremony began.
Addison was an honorary flower girl & I was matron of honor. Megan chose a tropical theme so I pulled some clothes that Addison & I already had in our closets. Megan & I were both barefoot. She was so pretty & SO HAPPY!
It thundered during the ceremony & after being pronounced husband & wife Megan & Matthew walked back down the aisle to Billy Idol's White Wedding. It was perfect! Megan has never been very traditional so when we were younger we joked that she would play that at her wedding. In the end, she couldn't resist.
Shortly after the ceremony ended the rain began again. We had a potluck style lunch & a delicious wedding cake! It was seriously fabulous. My mom made it & she made all of those candy buttons for it, too!
The rain let up just before Megan & Matthew were to leave for the airport. Megan didn't want to get stuck with a lot of birdseed so she said only the kids could toss it at them. But, my grandmother was insistent that she was throwing some, too, & she seems to have quite good aim from this photo of Megan blocking the birdseed.
It was such a fun wedding! Congratulations, Megan & Matthew!
