the essence

So, Friday ended up being lovely & we did get to go to the beach! Confession: we hadn't been to the beach since the last time Caroline was here, last February. I know, you'd think living so close we'd go more often but we never seem to make it over to the water. Such a shame, too, we had a great time!

The wind was INSANE. Just look at our hair in the pictures(thankfully, the knots were much easier to get out of my hair since it's so much shorter, now). Every once in awhile all this sand would blow up, too. There was so much wind that as we were driving away at 25 mph there were windsurfers going faster than us.

Addison was less than thrilled with getting sand on her hands at first. She looks so distressed in this second picture, I think it's so cute! She ran to her daddy for comfort. She quickly warmed up to the sand & then we had to chase her all over. She didn't want us to hold her, she wanted to run!







We came water ready & even though it was a gorgeous eighty degrees outside we opted only to get our feet wet.







I got some incredibly cute pictures of Ray & Addison together, too many to put on here!









This is about as good as it got for a family photo with all of that wind!
