the essence

Saturday I hosted a potluck lunch for Jen. Considering she's due anyday now with her third child in less than three years some of us thought she deserved a little time away from the kids to hang out with her girl friends. Of course it was a great excuse for ALL of us to have a break from our kids!



I didn't take nearly enough pictures but that could've been because I was so busy eating, talking, & laughing. We had SO much food (three desserts, which all were left at my house afterwards, for just seven of us!) and my cheeks were literally hurting from laughing & smiling so much.

After everyone left I went with Jen to Babies R Us where she had a free maternity portrait taken and looked so beautiful! We then went to Outback for dinner where I remarked just how nice it was to be out without any kids.

She dropped me off at Ray's moms where Ray & Addison were waiting. Addison seemed to have a fun day at grandma's eating all of her food & playing with the dogs. Apparently she became so tired during the day that she laid down on the ground & fell asleep with her little bottom in the air.

Yesterday, was our sixth wedding anniversary! After church we had a delicious potluck in celebration of our graduates. Addison was still very tired & fell asleep right in her booster seat!

The rest of the afternoon was spent lazily at home just lounging about.
