Every day when we were kids my mom would make scones. Yesterday I really wanted the gingerbread scones with nutmeg whipped cream. I went crazy trying to find the recipe; only to discover it was tucked neatly as the first recipe under "breads." I just thought it was too easy to look there first so I spent a good 15-20 minutes searching everywhere else I thought it might be.
Addison loved sitting right next to the excitement. She desperately wanted to wear this headband, too, but she wouldn't let me fix it.
The scones turned out delicious but I wish I would've waited for them to cool down before eating them. They're definitely better if you can wait a bit after taking them out of the oven. Of course the nutmeg whipped cream is what totally makes these. I don't think I'd even make the scones if I couldn't make the whipped cream.
Today we have a playdate at our house with a woman I met at Starbucks almost two months ago. She has a son just a few months older than Addison & we hit it off right away. Hopefully everything goes well with that today!
