the essence

Yesterday morning I left to get groceries while Addison was still in bed. When I got home she was sitting on Ray's lap in his office in the back of the house. I opened the garage door & heard a HUGE squeal from the back of the house: "Moooooommmmmmm!!" And then, the quick pitter patter of little feet as she came running to me all smiles. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that I totally loved that!

We had a semi-busy weekend. After youth group on Friday we went to Rach & Con's. It was really nice just getting to chat for awhile & Addison got to experience Wii for the first time. Conrad let her sit on his lap & helped her with the controller & she was in heaven!



We also went to their house Saturday night for pizza & to watch the football game. Even though I'm not a football fan I'm always game for hanging out with friends!

And, other than church on Sunday, we stayed home. That was nice. Ray *made* me lay down to rest. I could've fought it if I really wanted too, but I knew he was right. I think I did manage to doze off for a few minutes.

And, my energy yesterday was better & my mood was definitely better. Yesterday also marked the first day of Autumn. While we may not get much cooler weather or changing leaves here, I do what I can to fool myself: Simmering cinnamon on the stove, baking pumpkin bread & molasses cookies, & over the weekend I put up my Fall decorations. That's one of my favorites!
