The girls are sleeping in the same room tonight....

We tried this MONTHS ago. Months, as in before we started the training for this job. But, Kate would make noise & wake Addison up. Addison would then start to cry & wake Kate up. Once we started out training & we were gone late every night we really needed our sleep which meant we needed the girls to sleep all night. So, we shipped Kate into my craft room (or, my "Creative Studio" - doesn't that sounds better?) & she's been quite happy to sleep in there.

We've all been happy with it as Ray & I don't have to tip-toe around our room at night & Kate sleeps a solid 12 hours. Addison has also started going to be a little later than Kate so it's really worked out all around. However, it would be nice to be able to get into my "studio" in the evenings after the girls have gone to bed & to get our guest room back.

So, we took the plunge this evening & both of the girls are in the same room. Addison was fine with it, except that Kate cried for a bit when we first put her to bed because she wasn't in her normal place. When we put her in the pack n play to sleep she just turns her little head to the side & falls right to sleep, totally in her comfort zone.

I hope Kate gets comfortable in the crib soon - she already woke up once tonight when she scooched her head into the corner. We still need our sleep - I'm just now finishing my midnight shift & Ray has to be on the phones at 6 in the morning.

I sure hope the girls don't wake each other up! Has anyone else transitioned their kids into the same room after they'd been separated for awhile? Any helpful advice?
