My parents should have named me Grace

I have an incredible knack for running into things. You know stationary, very obvious items. I've even been known to be walking down a hallway & running into the wall. (does it make a difference that I'd just had dental work done???)

So, it comes as no surprise that last Tuesday I was rushing to get to work on time (you know, the 20 feet to the office) and in the process of getting my water from the kitchen table my foot slammed into the leg of a kitchen chair.

A few hours later, this is what my toe looked like (it also chipped off some of my pedicure!):

Two days later it wasn't doing too much better:

I have to say that 5 days post-accident my toe has turned lovely shades of grey and green. In the words of Ray, "it looks like your toe is dead." I'd actually thought the same thing. I never knew I could bruise the bottom, sides and top of my toe, especially not all at once, and I've also never had the bruise continue into the top of my foot. Until now.

I'm pretty sure I broke it, what do you think? It still hurts a bit, but not too awful. I am trying to be smart and staying away from closed toed shoes and heels for awhile! (Ah, I miss my beloved heels, wearing flip-flops to church yesterday just wasn't right!)

I feel your pain. I did that a couple weeks ago to the same toe only on my right foot. Mine swelled up and bruised but not THAT bad! I think you definitely broke yours! OUCH! Hope it's better.

I broke that same toe earlier this year. You may want to get it checked out. I wasn't sure that I'd broken mine, and it turned out I broke it at the joint and they needed to be taped. I wore a boot for 6 weeks or so. Sadly, I cracked the cartiledge too and now have arthritis in that toe. I wasn't even sure I wanted to get it checked out. You might want to just in case. :-)
