No crafting...yet

Last night I really wanted to get started on my craft project but instead I opted to make cookies and finish the ironing. The cookies are SO delicious! Especially hot out of the oven. I DID NOT eat four of them...

The ironing was not so exciting, but it's finished! That is such a great feeling. I've had a lot of laundry to do because I've been swapping out clothes. The girls outgrew a bunch of stuff so I had to pull out the bins with their new sizes & I had to get out my maternity clothes. That all made for A LOT of laundry. Which took me a LONG time to complete.

As for the cookies, I must give most of them away or I'll eat way too many. This could have something to do with the 4 lb. weight gain in the last two weeks (or, you know, it could just be water weight...right). The lucky recipients today will be the women at the birth center since I have my appointment at 9:30 this morning, & then Rach. Conrad liked the last batch so much that he wanted the recipe, plus, she's 5 days past her due date - I think that makes them deserving recipients!

I got the recipe online, but modified it a bit so I'll just post it here.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
2/3 C white sugar
2/3 C brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 2/3 cups chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Fold in the white chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until cookies are set. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

The recipe originally called for white chocolate chips but I'm not a big fan of those. I also happened to buy Hershey's cocoa powder & it was surprisingly very good in these cookies! (It also makes really good hot chocolate, too! Yep, one more clue to the 2-week-four-pound weight gain) :)
