Saturday was MY day. Not a day just for me, but a day in which I commandeered the plans. The best part was I didn't tell Ray or the kids what we were doing. Honestly, that was most of the fun, just keeping the secret!
When we loaded into the van, I even drove instead of directing Ray where to go. I know, not that big of a deal but, when I can get out of driving, I usually do & just let Ray take the wheel.
First, I took us to the Zephyrhills Splash Park for the girls & Ray to run around together. Splash parks are so much fun.
After getting soaked we walked over to the park & ate the picnic lunch I packed (oh yeah, I had it ALL planned).
After lunch the kids played on the playground for awhile before we left for our next destination. Ray kept asking all day, "what are we doing next?" Over & over. It was pretty funny - and made the secret even more fun!
Honestly, the next part of the day is really what I'd been looking forward to all week. We next drove to Rays' moms' place & dropped off ALL of the kids. Hurray! I even had a bottle pumped for Clay & everything - see? Totally prepared! So, we dropped off the kids & I took Ray to Barnes & Noble for a little date.
It was so nice having time alone together & not being "mom" for a few hours. I love being mom, it gives me such joy. But absence indeed makes the heart grow fonder & sometimes just a few hour break is what I need to regroup to help me be an even better mom to my dear ones.
