Ray & I had lots of fun at the antique store (especially Ray). We found stuff we wanted when added together amounts to more than $100.

I think the item top on the list that we plan on getting is an old sewing machine. Its from the late 1800's & its been sitting in the shop & the guy is so desperate to get rid of it that he's marked it down to $35. It had been $165 I think. It has little drawers on the sides that still have the original needle replacements in it.

You can see a picture of what it kind of looks like here. Its very cool.

There was also an old monopoly set from the mid 1930's with all of the pieces except the board. It was really interesting because the little red & green houses were made out of wood & instead of having pieces to play with like the "wheelbarrel" & "iron" you had little different colored wood pegs. The dice were also wood. It was in the original box & everything.

Now we're back at home & we've been looking at some of Pawpaw's old things. We saw the watch that he took off of a dead German in WWII & I went through his box of old money.

My favorite pieces in there were two pennies. One was from 1851 (152 years old!) & it was really thick & bigger than a quarter. The next penny was from 1860, 9 years later, & it was a little thing, more like what we have today.

Mawmaw keeps on trying to feed us. We just ate dinner at the Welch's Riverside Restaurant not too long ago but she's trying to get us to eat more now.

I'm SO full. Like I said, 5 pounds heavier by the time I get back.
