the essence

I've finally pulled in my eggplant headboard & set it up today. I had to leave it outside for awhile because of the fumes from the spray paint.

I'm horrible about remembering to get "before" pictures, as well as progress pictures, but this is a semi-before picture:

The painting above the bed was painted by Megan & was the base for the rest of the decorations. I just love the colors! I hung some plates on the wall (as suggested by my mom). They were a set of 4 lime green plastic plates for $3. I covered one with some scrapbook paper for a little something extra.

The curtain rod was a cheap $6 and the curtain was a gauzy piece of fabric, which I'm pretty certain my mom had made into a curtain for my room when I was younger. I cut out some eggplant, lime, & light blue circles from scrapbooking paper & sewed them onto the fabric. I love the way stitching looks in paper, I'm not sure why.

The pillows on the bed were made by Rachel, & were floor pillows/favors from Erin's mommy shower last year.

I'd still like to do more, but I'm loving it so much more already!
