You all deserve an update on the "bad" neighbor. I don't think I've told you anything new since November!
After the whole "killing-our-nice-neighbors-dog-with-anti-freeze" incident several things have been going on:
1.The not-nice neighbor took all manner of clothing out of her kitchen window
2. Animal control got involved - filed reports, took statements (including one from me), and got their attorney involved. There was a court date set for this April.
3. Our nice neighbors sent out this warning to those living around us:
They also, just once or twice, put a HUGE sign in their front yard stating that our not-nice neighbors had murdered their dog.
And now...
yesterday, days before the court date, we got the call that the husband plead guilty! It's a shame that he's taking the fall for his wife, but at least they admitted to their guilt. They had been trying to plead no-contest but our nice neighbors weren't going to go for that. Now, because they've admitted their guilt, our nice neighbors can take them to small claims court and try to recoup all of the money they spent trying to find out what was wrong after their dog was poisoned.
Not even an hour ago I opened the windows in the front of our house. Right after I opened the windows I saw the not-nice neighbor pulling out of her driveway. Then, she waved at me! I waved back, she looked away, & as she was driving away she gave me the finger. That's the first time she's acknowledged me in about 2.5 years, ever since Halloween 2006 when she muttered to her husband about my painted pumpkin belly being disgusting.
I then walked outside to say goodbye to Ray, as he was leaving with his mom. While standing outside I saw the not-nice lady slowly drive past our street on the road that's perpendicular to ours. Weird! A few minutes later I was still outside with Addison & talking to our nice neighbor when the lady came driving by again & turned back onto our street & went into her house. Seriously, what was she doing???
